Another great addition (edition) of Trivial Pursuit Feb 13, 2010 Great edition of Trivial Pursuit. Questions are difficult but not as bad as Genius Editions. Great for recent history buffs!
Fun, but not enough questions! Apr 08, 2009 My family has been in love with Trivial Pursuit for decades, and playing the game as a group has long been a tradition for Christmas and other annual gatherings. But the original trivial pursuit is too challenging and stale for some of the younger members, and the 1980s Trivial Pursuit trivia is way beyond those of us who were barely born in the 1980s, so 1990s seemed like a good choice.
The game is great fun- an excellent balance of political, pop cultural, and weird, random questions. I also liked that there is no sports category- instead, sports questions are merged with questions about games and hobbies. The game pieces are cute 90's memorabilia, like PDAs and mopey little Kurt Cobains. The difficulty level is just right- challenging, but doable and hilarious.
The flaw with the game, however, is major. There are not enough questions! Most TP games come with at least two full boxes of questions, while this edition has one smallish box. Repeat questions started to pop up after two or three games. After a month or two's worth of occasional playing, everyone in the family knew all of the answers! The game is virtually useless now, as there is no mystery or challenge.
For those that love TP and 90's pop culture, this game is a pretty decent find. But don't shell out too much for it, and don't buy the game with high expectations, as it will grow old far too quickly.
Too bad no discount Jan 12, 2009 Great product, fun of course (being a Trivial Pursuit game). Just too bad this seller didn't offer any sort of a discount on the product.
great game for all ages Nov 24, 2008 I was very pleased that i was able to obtain this product from Amazon - it is very hard to find in stores - my kids had gotten hooked on Trivia Pursuit but we were using an older version and they were having a hard time with the questions - this version is just perfect for them. Another nice feature is that it comes in a hard box which will not break easy
So fun for Dinner Parties and Get Togethers Sep 28, 2008 This game is so fun for adult get togethers. It is nostalgic for anyone in their 30s and beyond. The rules are exactly the same as the original but all the questions focus on 90s decade within the categories. It is also really great to help my teenage son learn several historical things that happened when he was very young. The game cards are divided by year too. So you know whether the question is 1991 or 1999. Loads of fun and educational for kids.
