Travel Games Nov 15, 2009 Love this game...we had to sit in a car for 6 hrs. We played this game and Yahtzee too
Scrabble Game Folio - excellent travel size game Oct 05, 2009 This is an excellent travel size version of Scrabble. I saw several groups of people playing this game at poolside on a cruise ship last year, so I bought a game to take on my next cruise! A great feature is that the letter tiles lock into place so that you can stop your game, zip up the case and continue the same game later.

Great game! quality question Aug 19, 2009 After trying magnetic and other 'travel' versions of Scrabble, we have used this folio version for over three years. It's compact size and good design has made it a constant companion every time we travel. Moreover, its versatility has advantages that facilitate our passion for Scrabble: we can start a game at home, take it to another room or the back yard, finish it later, or complete a game after we return home that we began on an airplane, in a waiting room or airport terminal. Many happy hours!
However, we just bought two new sets in July 2009 -- as gifts. We've used one of them several times and, much to our chagrin, find that the engineering of the pieces in the new sets is inferior. Our original set bought 3 years ago has perfect molding of the pieces so they pop in/out of place --no chance of loss or interruption of an on-going game. The new set has a few flaws in at least 8-10 pieces; the 'fit' of these letters isn't snug -- letters can fall out.
We just returned from a trip, and intend to register a complaint to Hasbro about the quality glitch. We don't know if we got a couple new 'lemons' or perhaps Hasbro's quality control of outsourcing just ain't what it used to be.
So, overall, we rate the game very highly.
And BTW, we got a very good price through Amazon that compares favorably with prices at game stores, travel shops, and other dealers.
But our recent experience is an annoying development in the product, and we think that too should be shared.
Enjoy, but with a word of caution!
Great for the couch potato Jun 13, 2009 The tiles stay put when passing this game back and forth to the player sitting next to you on the sofa, in bed, or wherever you are. If you don't have time to finish the game, it folds in half and everything stays secure! It's the greatest for the laziest of us.
Have Scrabble Will Travel May 27, 2009 If you're into Scrabble and you want to play on the road (or the beach, or at the pool, etc.), get the travel version of the game. Inelegantly titled "Scrabble Game Folio," the item is much better than it sounds. It's Scrabble, just a little smaller, and easier to take with you. Plus, the tiles snap onto the board, so they won't move around if the board moves (say, while you lean over to reach for your pina colada).
