The classic word game! A must for every family Aug 02, 2009 Scrabble has always been my Monopoly. As someone who loves words and thinks their spelling and vocabulary is top notch, I find myself constantly discovering something new and fun with every game. Just the other day I was astounded when I challenged the word "Gofer" thinking it was clearly misspelled, and it turns out the definition was "an employee whose duties include running errands". Who knew? And another time I laughed at my competition when they foolishly challenged my word "Quip" thinking I made it up.
You don't have to be a brilliant speller or vocab virtuoso to play this game though. There are millions of words in the English language, and you might even be surprised to discover just how many of them you know when playing Scrabble. If you don't have this game in your cabinet, your family and friends are missing out on hours of fun!
Challenging and Fun May 10, 2009 I love this game but I wish I'd gotten the deluxe version with the plastic grid gameboard.
Its a classic! Feb 08, 2009 I don't think Scrabble needs a review, but just in case: this is a great game. I like it more as an adult. I grew bored with it as a child. And, being the youngest by many years, it was also a game I could never win. No fun! But I like it now!

Good set Jan 22, 2009 Scrabble is a very popular game and there is very little that I can add as review on the game. However, this scrabble set is very nice. Would make an excellent gift set.
I would have liked :
1. More number of alphabet pieces.
2. The letters are on one side of the piece, they could have been punched on both side of the pieces.
3. A scoreboard to maintain the player scores.
A Classic You Just Can't Beat Jan 18, 2009 My wife and our friends have been huge Scrabble fans from way back. We were playing a lot of the Scrabble beta app on Facebook, but were getting tired of all the bugs. Plus, a good old-fashioned face to face game can't be beat. This set hasn't changed a bit from the version I played as a kid. This is the no frills version: the board doesn't revolve lazy Susan style and the tile bag is just made of plastic. Other than that, the game materials are high quality. As for game play, if you happen to be that rare person who has never played Scrabble, it is a classic board game and a ton of fun. And yes, it is educational and encourages literacy.
