 Too easy, too short Nov 14, 2009
I know that this game has been out for a little while now but I just got around to playing it. I have always been a fan of the Mario games but this one was disappointing. First, I will say that it is too short. I was able to finish this game from start to finish in about 10 hours (over 2-3 days). I felt like I could not thoroughly enjoy it because it was short. Second, it was a little too easy. I will say that I am basing this off of my age so that means that it may be a little more difficult for a child. I was looking for Yoshi and he wasn't there and neither were any costumes. The only power ups you get are big mushroom, small mushroom, fire flower, turtle shell and the star. I will say that it was fun to be a giant Mario (big mushroom) and a micro Mario (small mushroom) but you don't get those power ups often. Another pointless feature is the coins that you have to collect. At the end of the game, with the extra 20 coins you have, all you can get is a background for your menu screen. The bosses are also extremely easy. If you are expecting to get the same feeling as you got when you played Super Mario World (SNES or Advance) or Super Mario 3, you will be disappointed. If you are big Mario fan and are just looking for something new with all the classic characters you may enjoy it otherwise, just rent it, beat it and return it.

This game is, to say the least, a masterpiece. It builds on the classic gameplay of the older Mario games. I have a cheat for anyone reading this review before I start rating aspects of New Super Mario Bros.
Luigi Moves!
To play as Luigi and learn new moves, hold down R and
L before you select your file. Keep holding on as you
push A. You hear a Luigi sound! One of his exclusive
moves is an attack in which Luigi jumps higher than
usual. Jump once, and as you hit the ground, push A to
propel yourself into the air much higher than usual.

Great game ... Lots of fun playing it... I would say it's better than the Original Mario Brothers...

Grandson's birthday, and he needed a few games. I was informed by his mother that he wanted Super Mario Bros., so I ordered it for him. From what my daughter
tells me, he loves the game, and can't put it down. As soon as he gets home from school, he starts playing the game. Now he wants more Mario Bros. games. Have to wait for Christmas.
